Aug. 12

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 5:30 a.m., Timothy R. Sherrick Jr., 23, of Twiss Avenue, Meriden, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant for operating under suspension.

Aug. 11

VIOLATION OF PROBATION — At 3:30 p.m., police were called to Butternut Street about a larceny involving James Millett, 50, of AP Gates Road, East Haddam, who was found with an outstanding warrant. According to the report, he was found hiding in a wood pile.

Aug. 9

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE STRANGULATION — At 6 p.m., Aaron M. Davis, 20, of no certain address, was picked up by East Hartford Police on an outstanding warrant.

BREACH OF PEACE — At 6:31 p.m., Takyra Greene, 18, of High Street fought with London D. Highsmith, 18, of East Lake Drive near St. Mary’s School on South Main Street. According to the report, a woman heard her daughter arguing in the living room with her boyfriend and saw her throw a book at him and they began pushing each other. Both were charged.

Aug. 8

DUI, UNSAFE MOVEMENT — At 12:50 a.m., Matthew L. McArthur, 33, of Wildwood Road, Portland, was driving a Volvo S80 on Main Street at a high rate of speed. Once stopped, the report says, McArthur smelled of alcohol and had glossy and bloodshot eyes, and appeared confused, saying he was coming from La Boca restaurant. He told police he had two beers there, the report indicates, and when asked twice to recite the alphabet could not do so correctly. He failed sobriety tests and refused a breath test, police indicate.
