Middletown Arrests: Aug. 30 to Sept. 10

The following police reports are obtained directly from the Middletown Police public information officer and inclusion on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

Sept. 10

SECOND-DEGREE LARCENY, INTERFERING WITH AN OFFICER — At 2:20 a.m., police taking a stolen vehicle report from a victim saw it drive past them while being driven by David L. Bouey, 22, of Rising Trail Drive, according to the report, so police pursued the car through several condominium parking lots including Chestnut Hills on Town Brooke until the occupants ran away. The report says Bouey was tackled and after a struggle arrested, as was the passenger, Terrance M. Dunn, 22, of Goodman Drive. Dunn was taken down by a police canine, according to the report. Both were charged.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — At 2 a.m., Michael Dascanio, 56, of Russell Street called police about stomach pains due to end-stage liver disease and had fresh bruises on his face, according to the report, after five men beat him up. He had an outstanding warrant, police say and was brought to Middlesex Hospital.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 5:15 a.m., Gina M. Carey, 29, of Queens Street, Bristol, turned herself in on an outstanding warrant from Clinton Police.

VIOLATION OF PROBATION — At 7:17 a.m., Jamal Spikes, 29, of LaBella Circle turned himself in on an outstanding warrant. 

Sept. 9

RECKLESS DRIVING, VEHICLE DRIVEN WITH INTENT TO INTIMIDATE, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — At about 7 p.m., Mark Norwich, 54, of Randolph Road was picked up on an outstanding warrant.

Sept. 5

OPERATION WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — About 2 p.m., Diana F. Faden, 25, of Grandview Terrace, Portland, was driving on Spring Street and Rome Avenue after leaving the Arrigoni Bridge with a improper rear marker cover. 

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, FAILURE TO CARRY LICENSE, ILLEGAL OPERATION UNDER SUSPENSION — At 9:37 p.m., Anthony Polumbo, 61, of Wiesse Alber Road, Higganum, was driving his wife's car, a Nissan Versa on Mile Lane and Newfield Street, according to the report.

Sept. 4

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATION IN VIOLATION OF LICENSE CLASSIFICATION, FAILURE TO HAVE LIGHTS LIT — At 8:43 p.m., Jesse A. Heidel, 18, of Elvira Drive, Rockfall, was driving an Audi A4 in the McDonald's parking lot on Washington Street with a plate registered to a Nissan Maxima in New Britain, according to the report. Heidel told officers he didn't have license or registration and seemed very nervous, then produced an ID, but didn't have a license. He told officers there was a 12-pack of Miller beer in the trunk. The two others in the car were underage, police say, and the officer made them pour out the beer.

DRINKING WHILE DRIVING, FAILURE TO DISPLAY PLATES — At 7:49 p.m., Kent Haynes, 24, of Kent Court was driving at Dodge Neon on Old Mill and Walnut Grove roads without a front plate, then pulled into Aldi's parking lot, according to the report. He had an open and half-full Miller Light can inside. Haynes said he had just left Veterans Park on Walnut Grove Road with his girlfriend and both were drinking and he finished it while dropping her off to work at Taco Bell on Washington Street. 

Sept. 3 

BREACH OF PEACE — At 4:08 p.m., Mark B. Sykes, 53, of Main Street approached his landlord outside his building complaining that the lock was not working properly, according to the report, then swore at and used a racial epithet against him, then pulled out a knife, saying, "I've got something for you," then pushed him. When police arrived, Sykes was sitting on his bicycle, police say, after throwing the knife in the trash. Sykes told police he told his landlord to let him in his apartment because he couldn't enter due to the broken lock but the landlord refused and said he was being evicted because of loud music. Sykes said he walked to a friend's house to get a knife so he could get inside but had the knife in his rear back pocket the who time, adding, according to the report, that the victim was "paranoid." At 3:22 p.m., the report says, police were called there by another person over a loud noise complaint.

Sept. 2

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — At 9:30 p.m., Dorien C. Overton, 34, of Walnut Street was picked up at the Wallingford Police station on an outstanding warrant.

Aug. 31

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — About 9 a.m., Karlene J. Gibbons, 46, of Catherine Street was driving on Vine Street without a seatbelt. The front passenger was arrested for violation of probation, according to the report. 

Aug. 30

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE REFUSED, FAILURE TO HAVE STOP LAMPS — At 10:59 p.m., Lawrence Trickett, 21, of Finch Avenue was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on Newfield Street and failed to stop at the red light, according to the report. He was found with a warrant from Wethersfield Police.
