Middletown Arrests: Aug. 13-27

The following police reports are obtained directly from the Connecticut State Police and Glastonbury Police public information officers and inclusion on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Connecticut State Police Troop F Westbrook report the following incidents:

Aug. 26

THIRD-DEGREE BURGLARY — At 4:20 p.m., David Fonatnez, 32, was taken into custody at a home on Holmes Circle for an incident and later found to have an active arrest warrant from April 28, 2012, according to the report.

Aug. 24

SPEEDING, DUI — At 3:04 p.m., Lisa L. McDermott, 28, of Juniper Hill Court, Cromwell, was driving north on Route 9 near Route 17 in Middletown and clocked at 80 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone, according to the report. She appeared drunk and failed a sobriety test, police say. She refused to take a breath test at Middletown Police and taken to Troop F.

Aug. 14

DUI, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE — At 10:57 p.m., David A. Couture, 56, of Monarca Drive was driving on Saybrook Road, stopped by police for an expired registration, then showed signs of intoxication, according to the report. He failed sobriety tests and was found with an outstanding warrant from Enfield. 

Aug. 13

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 4:09 p.m., Dwayne Sanders, 44, of Blakeslee Street, Bristol, was a front-seat passenger in a car traveling on Route 9 north in Middletown near Exit 12 and argued heatedly with two female passengers, according to the report. Sanders' wife called police once the car reached East Hartford, the report indicates, and there were no injuries.

Glastonbury Police report the following incident:

Aug. 27

TWO COUNTS RISK OF INJURY TO MINOR, THEFT OF MARKER PLATE, ENGAGING POLICE IN PURSUIT, RECKLESS DRIVING, MISUSE OF MARKER PLATE, DUI — Russell Culver, 35, of 30 Cooley Ave., Middletown, was picked up on an outstanding warrant from a May incident when police say Culver shoplifted from a CVS store in East Hartford and fled police when a Glastonbury police detective attempted to stop his vehicle on Route 2. Culver drove the wrong way down Route 2 to elude police, and had his girlfriend’s two children, aged 2 and 4, in the car, police said.
