Meriden Man Dies After Personal Watercraft Accident In Middletown

Officials have confirmed 34-year-old Christopher Schoen-Kiewert died Monday from injuries sustained in a crash with a boat Sunday on the Connecticut River near Harbor Park.

Christopher Schoen-Kiewert, 34, of Meriden, the driver of a personal watercraft  that collided with a boat in the Connecticut River at Harbor Park in Middletown Sunday evening has died, according to NBC Connecticut.

Schoen-Kiewert's craft hit a 33-foot pleasure boat operated by Jonathan C. Keene, 28, of Manchester, WTNH is reporting.

Danielle Tardif, 31, of Meriden, a passenger on Schoen-Kiewert's personal watercraft, was taken to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries and released, according to WTNH. Connecticut Environmental Conservation police are still investigating.

Schoen-Kiewert was a 1995 graduate of Cromwell High School.
