Cops: Man Steals UPS Driver's Cell, Demands Woman's Car Keys

RISK OF INJURY, BREACH OF PEACE, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — On Sept. 5 at 4:15 p.m., Dorinda L. Lapman, 41, of Westfield Street was arrested by Cromwell Police on an outstanding warrant.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Sept. 5 at 7:03 p.m., Sarah R. Ford, 25, of Pearl Street punched her roommate in the temple. She was found on Liberty Street and denied it.

TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Sept. 5, Reginald C. Lewis, 33, of Green Street was on Ferry Street smoking marijuana with another man. He was found with outstanding warrants.

BREACH OF PEACE — On Sept. 4 at 6:59 p.m., Lashekas White, 33, of Woodbury Circle said her ex-boyfriend, Darryl Drake, 46, of Bacon Avenue came to her apartment to drop off their son then pulled the registration plates off the car; the car belonged to him and he didn’t want her driving it anymore. She told him to stop, he wouldn’t so she pushed him. He hit her on the side of the face with his fist. A witness confirmed the story. Both were arrested.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — On Sept. 4 at 1:29 a.m., Motima L. Vereen, 35, of Spring Street was arguing with her live-in girlfriend, Deborah V. Clark, 33, of Spring Street. Clark placed her hand on Vereen’s face and shoved her backward. Vereen hit Clark on the forehead with a cordless phone. Clark was highly intoxicated. Vereen was arrested for the above; Clark for disorderly conduct.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Sept. 3 at 12:30 a.m., Bryan P. Kneeland, 28, of Austin Drive, Marlborough, was seen by an off-duty Willimantic police officer arguing with his fiancé on Ferry Street at a bar. He pushed her backward with his arm. He then argued with her a second time in a car, striking her several times in the chest/abdomen area. She said he was upset after losing his job.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Sept. 3, Daniel J. Parreira, 33, of Ridgefield Drive was fighting with his wife, restrained her, pinned her against the wall and head-butted her. He ripped her keys out of the door and broke her car key chain. The argument started when she arranged for one of his ex-girlfriends to watch their 3-year-old child. She said, “we always fight. I had him arrested for punching me a while ago but I dropped the charges.” Parreira denied the attack but said he attended marriage counseling and anger management after he was arrested after becoming angry the wife was cheating on him while he was away on 16-month deployment.

THIRD-DEGREE LARCENY — On Sept. 3 at 12:18 a.m., Joseph S. Scionti, 24, of Fair Lane, Wethersfield, was driving on Court Street without a front plate. He had an outstanding warrant. Marijuana was found inside with a pipe.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, SECOND-DEGREE HARASSMENT — On Sept. 3 at 2:30 a.m., Christopher M. Scibelli, 27, of Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, was arrested by West Hartford Police.

THIRD-DEGREE ROBBERY, THIRD-DEGREE BURGLARY, THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, BREACH OF PEACE — On Sept. 2 at 3:21 p.m., police got a call from a victim on Main Street Extension, who said Stephen Dougherty, 47, of Saint Mary Street, Hamden, had tried to take her keys as she was about to get into her car. His description matched a larceny at 2:37 p.m., when a male had entered a UPS truck and stole the driver’s cell phone. The man followed him and Dougherty gave it back. When the woman was leaving work at Middlesex Hospital at 3 p.m. she walked to her car, Dougherty demanded she turn over the keys. He was found on South Main Street. She did a drive-by and identified him. He said he was arrested Sept. 1 by state police in Killingworth, charged with third-degree attempted larceny, possession of narcotics and weapons in vehicle; and was released Sept. 2. When the officer found him there were several gold necklaces and earrings lying on the ground with a Blackberry.

EVADING RESPONSIBILITY, TRAVELING UNREASONABLE SPEED, FAILURE TO DRIVE IN PROPER LANE — Matthew D. Williams, 47, of Hobson Street was involved in a car crash on Aug. 23 after driving north on East Main Street and hitting a car stopped at Russell Street. He then hit a parked car on Hillside Avenue. He was arrested Aug. 29.
