Middletown Police Department Arrests March 1-22

The Middletown Police Department reports the following incidents:

POSSESSION NARCOTICS, WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL, POSSESSION UNDER 4 OZ MARIJUANA AND WITH INTENT TO SELL — On March 22, William Roccanello, 19, of Fox Hill Drive, Rocky Hill, was the driver of a car driving on Main Street with dark tinted car windows and an aftermarket muffler. He was found with cocaine and marijuana and given an April 6 court date.

POSSESSION NARCOTICS, WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL, WITH INTENT TO SELL, POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE AND WITH INTENT TO SELL — On March 22, James Weston, 25, of Spencer Drive was a passenger in a car driving on Main Street with dark tinted car windows and an aftermarket muffler. He was found with cocaine and marijuana and given an April 6 court date.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — On March 22, Darrell S. Bailey, 49, of Linwood Street, New Britain, allegedly struck his girlfriend in the face on Newfield Street. He was given a March 23 court date.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On March 22, Latrele Hall, 37, of Stoneycrest Drive, allegedly bit her boyfried’s hand during an argument on Newfield Street. She was given a March 23 court date.

POSSESSION CRACK COCAINE, WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL, TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE — On March 21, Darius Betts, 55, of Liberty Street was seen crossing Main Street outside the crosswalk. When officers approached he put something into his mouth which later tested positive for cocaine. He was given an April 4 court date.

IDENTITY THEFT, TRAFFICKING IN PERSONAL ID INFO, CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION — On March 21, Edgardo Sierra, 44, of Washington Street, New Britain, was picked up from West Hartford Police. He was brought to Middletown in connection with a Feb. 18 Forgery incident on Long Hill Road. He was given an April 4 court date.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED REGISTRATION — On March 18, Charlie Parker, 63, of Military Road took a turn on South Main Street without using his car’s turn signal. He was given a March 30 court date.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On March 18, Edward McMahon, 46, of LaBella Circle was found intoxicated on Broad Street and refused to put his hands behind his back. He was subdued by Taser and given a March 29 court date.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On March 17, Matthew Doyle, 23, of Westbrook Road, Deep River, a patient at Middlesex Hospital, became angry after believing he received inadequate care. He destroyed a magazine rack and was given a March 28 court date.

DRINKING WHILE DRIVING — On March 17, Thomas E. Bower Jr., 46, of East Main Street, was driving on East Main with a defective brake light and an open beer can he admitted to drinking. He was given a March 23 court date.

DUI, FAILURE TO OBEY STOP SIGN — On March 16, George White, 57, of Braeburn Lane was served with a warrant from a Dec. 25, 2010, incident on East Street. He was given a March 24 court date.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE AND WITHOUT INSURANCE, MISUSE OF MARKER PLATE, OPERATING UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE — On March 10, LaCurtis Brown, 40, of Poplar Street, New Haven, was driving on Main Street without a front license plate. He was found to have two outstanding PRAWN warrants.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On March 11, Newington Police had Frank Cusano, 57, of Royal Oak Drive, West Hartford, wanted for a 2010 incident on Washington Street, in custody. He was given a March 25 court date.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE, UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE, FAILURE TO CARRY INSURANCE CARD — On March 9, Craig Salamone, 41, of Marlborough Street, Portland, was driving on Main Street with an expired registration sticker.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, ASSAULT OF PEACE OFFICER — On March 9, Robert J. Ciarleglio, 49, of Reiman Drive, Cromwell, was in the custody of Cromwell Police, transferred to Middletown for an outstanding warrant for an Aug. 9, 2010, incident on Silver Street. He was given a March 23 court date.

MISUSE OF MARKER PLATE, OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE, WITHOUT INSURANCE AND UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE, FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELT — On March 8, Michelle M. Clay, 32 of Pearl Street was driving at the intersection of Spring and High streets without a front license plate.

TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS, OPERATING WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE — On March 1, Shirley A. Such, 46, of Main Street, was seen driving a car that hit another. She was given a March 15 court date.
