A little after 7 p.m. Thursday, Middletown Police officers were dispatched to 99 Union Street, the Northern Middlesex YMCA, for a suspicious male looking into vehicles. Officers arrived on scene and located the individual matching the description given by the complainant, according to the police report.
The suspect was identified as Keith Loftus, 31, who had an outstanding arrest warrant with the Old Saybrook Police Department for charges of assault on an infant. Middletown Police Officers were aware that Loftus was wanted and frequented the city, the report states.
According to the New London Day, Crystal Dorothy, 26, of Second Avenue, turned herself in on Tuesday, and was charged with risk of injury to a minor, making a false statement to police, interfering with an officer and two counts of conspiracy.
Police sought her former boyfriend, Keith Loftus, 31, whose last known address was in Deep River. He is wanted on charges of first-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, interfering with an officer, and two counts of conspiracy.
Loftus was arrested and held for Old Saybrook Police Department, who has him in custody.

Keith Loftus is 31 years old and last known address was in Deep River but is known to be in the Middletown, Essex or Old Saybrook area. He is wanted on Charges of Assault in the First Degree, Risk of Injury to a Minor, Interfering with an Officer, Conspiracy to Commit Interfering with an Officer and Conspiracy to Commit False Statement. Loftus is facing a $150,000 bond.
