Glastonbury Police: Middletown Man Falsified Gun Permit Info

An arrest warrant charged the man with second-degree false statement.

By Robert Muirhead

A Middletown man was arrested by Glastonbury police on charges that he falsified information on a weapons permit application with the town.
James Bailes, 43, of 101 High St., Middletown, turned himself in to the Glastonbury Police Department on a warrant charging him with second-degree false statement.

He was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is due in court on June 26.

The warrant alleges that Bailes submitted a weapons permit application with the Town of Glastonbury that contained false information. Weapons applications are sworn under oath and notarized prior to submission.
