Former Middletown Officer Charged in Domestic Dispute
Cromwell police arrested David Beauchemin on charges including a breach of peace and possessing drug paraphernalia.
A former Middletown police officer and Cromwell first selectman had to be subdued with a Taser after becoming combative with police on Tuesday, according to a report in The Middletown Press.
The officer, David Beauchemin, 52, was taken into custody on a number of charges including resisting an officer, a breach of peace and possession of drug paraphernalia after police confronted him outside a home in Cromwell, the newspaper reported.
Beauchemin became physical resistant and the responding officers had to use a Taser to subdue him, the Press said.
This is the second former Middletown officer to be arrested this month. Samuel DiProto, a retired Middletown cop, was arrested twice earlier in May on charges of child porn possession and inappropriate contact with a minor.
