Five Jeeps Found Stolen, Burnt, Near Middletown Resevoir

Police say they are investigating the case as an arson

Police are investigating a report of five Jeeps reportedly stolen from around Middletown and burned in a wooded area of the city

The burnt vehicles were located Wednesday morning in an area near the Middletown Resevoir. Police said they believe the Jeeps were stolen and they are investigating the case an arson. There were no further details as the case remains under investigation.

WFSB recorded video of the Jeeps as they were being carted away. The news station also interviewed a girlfriend of one of the Jeep’s owners.

Because the Jeeps were discovered on land near the resevoir, the Connecticut State Police are handling the arson case, while Middletown is handling the theft part, police said.

Why cant the police find these culprits who keep stealing vehicles in the westlake area of town. One officer on patrol isnt enough for the highest populated area in the city and the crooks know it.

it's not just west lake..or just jeeps either, they tried and failed to steal a Ford explorer as well. i don't understand why anyone would do this
