Middletown Police: Convicted Felon Found With Crack, Multiple Firearms

A search of a 30-year-old Glover Place man yielded cocaine and marijuana hidden in his buttocks, officers say, along with two semi-automatic pistols and a revolver back at his apartment.

A 30-year-old convicted felon is facing a slew of narcotics and firearms possession charges after Middletown police found him with crack cocaine and marijuana — and three guns back at his apartment.

On Aug. 28, street crime officers descended upon 18 Glover Place to serve a warrant for Jeff Spruill, 30, and a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora registered to Chanelle McCalla, 31, the report says.

Spruill, a felon convicted for criminal possession of a firearm and possession and sale of narcotics, and his girlfriend McCalla live at the home.

The report says detectives found Spruill and McCalla in the Olds Aurora at Main and Liberty streets; along with crack cocaine and marijuana in Spruill's buttocks, the report details. The crack weighed 5.39 grams and the marijuana 4.9 grams. 

At the apartment, detectives found an unlabeled pill bottle containing Xanax and Dilaudid, officers say, and three firearms — a Hi-Point .40 cal. semi-automatic pistol with a fully loaded magazine, a Hi-Point .380 cal. semi-automatic pistol with a loaded magazine, and a fully loaded Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver. Several boxes of live .357 and .380 ammunition and a camouflage body armor vest were also found, the report details

Detectives discovered the Smith & Wesson .357 had been reported stolen (the investigation into the other firearms being stolen is ongoing).

Spruill was held on a $300,000 bond for: possession of crack cocaine and with intent to sell and within 1,500 feet of a school; possession of marijuana, and with intent to sell and within 1,500 feet of a school; three counts criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of body armor, theft of a firearm and possession of narcotics.
