Couple Charged With Public Indecency After Car Crash

State Police Troop F, Westbrook, report the following incidents:

ILLEGALLY OBTAINING DRUGS, IDENTITY THEFT, TWO COUNTS CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION — On Aug. 18 at 1:57 p.m., the Deep River Resident Trooper investigated Cheryl Lynch, 45, of Court Street attempting to obtain prescription drugs at Walgreens Pharmacy in Deep River by impersonating an employee of a local doctor’s office using the personal information of another person to obtain narcotics.

FUGITIVE ARREST WITHOUT WARRANT — On Aug. 18 at 10:15 a.m. the Department of Motor Vehicles truck squad stopped Marvin Lee Jones, 40, of Bristol, Tenn., on deKoven Drive in Middletown for an equipment violation on his trailer. He was found with a violation of probation out of Tennessee.

PUBLIC INDECENCY — On Aug. 14 at 3:03 p.m., Claire K. Williamson, 22, of Evergreen Circle, Middletown, was driving a Ford Taurus north on Route 9 near Exit 6 in Chester when the car slid off the roadway, spun around 180 degrees and struck the guardrail in the median. At 3:52 p.m., Santo Ficaro, 28, of South Windsor and Williamson were both arrested.

CHECK FRAUD — On Aug. 12 at 5 p.m., a Middletown woman said her ex-husband had cashed three checks totaling $870 July 25, Aug. 2 and Aug. 8 from her Liberty Bank checking account in Chester. It was in her name only and she did not allow him access.

TWO COUNTS CONSPIRACY — On Jan 20 at 2:42 p.m., the Deep River Resident Trooper investigated theft of marine electronic equipment from Brewers Deep River Marina on Jan 19: Garmin 24-inch HD radar dome, Garmin 4006 GPS navigation unit and other boat-related equipment worth $2,869. In all, $2,400 worth of damages was done to two vessels during the theft. Brian Irizarry, 23, of Summer Hill Road, and Harry T. Newmann III, 24, of Bacon Avenue were found involved through the work of Chester, Deep River and Clinton police and eBay and surveillance footage. The two were in prison when charged on Aug. 10. Newmann was charged with criminal mischief, first- and second-degree, two counts third-degree larceny, fifth-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary. Irizarry was charged with two counts third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary.
