Cops: Young Women Brawl When One Calls Other Fat

Middletown Police incident reports through April 29

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On April 29, John J. Bowden, 19, of Foss Hill Drive was seen by Wesleyan Public Safety damaging several patrol car side mirrors. He ran from officers and when caught, said, “what else is there to do on campus?” He has a May 9 court date.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On April 28, Kenneth M. Ford, 23, of Summer Hill Road turned himself into police on an outstanding warrant from March 5.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 28, Hollie K. Robichaud, 28, of Pearl Street turned herself in on a warrant from state police Troop F. She was given an April 28 court date.

THREE COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 27, Vanessa Rivera, 23, of Riverside Avenue, Torrington, was in a disabled car on Route 9 North by Exit 16. She was found with three outstanding warrants. She was given a May 4 court date.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE — On April 27, Uzun Tulay, 28, of Stoneycrest Drive was involved in a car accident on Newfield Street. She was given a May 13 court date.

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE, CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, THIRD-DEGREE STALKING, OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE — On April 27, a victim stated his ex-girlfriend, Kimberly Harris, 36, of Main Street was at 176 Pearl Street at 2:25 p.m. when she hit him with a soda bottle and argued verbally with him. Harris scratched the victim on his face and neck; Harris admitted doing so. At 4:15 p.m., Harris returned to the scene in her husband's car. The victim said her son left him a message saying he was going to kill him. Police saw the car drive by and Harris was found driving it. The son admitted leaving the message. She was given an April 28 court date.

DUI, TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS — On April 27, Brian M. Rahrig, 48, of Arnold Street turned himself in on a warrant. He was given a May 11 court date.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On April 27, Anna Bacon-Silveira, 39, of High Street arrived home, her stepfather said, in a loud and intoxicated state. She refused to be quiet and swept a plant and bottle of soda onto the floor. She admitted to it and resisted arrest. She was given an April 28 court date.

SECOND-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On April 27, James Millett, 47, of St. John's Street admitted to causing $360 in damage to the walls and a window of his landlord's apartment upon being evicted. He was given a May 11 court date.

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On April 27, Said U. Orozco, 24, of Rose Circle was served an arrest warrant from an April 14 incident. He was given an April 28 court date.

RISK OF INJURY TO MINOR — On April 27, police responded to the report of a small child running on Liberty Street. A witness saw the 4-year-old girl, and with neighbors knocked on the door of 71 Berlin Street, with no answer. Jessie Meeks, 23, who lives there, told police she, Brandi Massita, 20, of Berlin Court, and four unknown men had been up all night and her husband had gone to bed at 10 p.m. She said the child had not eaten the day before. Massita and Meeks agreed Meeks would watch the child when Massita went to work the next morning. Massita said she did not hear the husband say Meeks was too tired to watch the child. Police said the girl was dirty, possibly malnourished and said her grandmother’s house had bedbugs. She was given a May 4 court date.

DUI, OPERATING UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE, AND WITH SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE, TRAVELING TOO FAST — On April 24, Mindy Tripi, 48, of Durant Terrace was seen speeding on deKoven Drive. Dispatch had just radioed to be on the lookout for the car for a possible DWI. She registered .212 and later .209 blood alcohol levels.

DUI, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On April 23, Kirk Lisica, 37, of Newfield Street drove his car through the police parking lot at a high rate of speed in front of several officers. Police said he smelled strongly of alcohol and became belligerant. He refused to take a breathalizer test and was taken to Middlesex Hospital for psychological evaluation.

POSSESSION UNDER 4 OZ MARIJUANA, AND OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On April 23, Samuel Ruiz, 30, of East Main Street was the driver in a parked Hyuandai at Mmart on Newfield Street and an officer smelled marijuana coming from inside. Police found a pair of tweezers, a cigarillo cigar package and 5.4 grams of marijuana. He was given a May 4 court date.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On April 23, Teresa Tomasino, 19, of Cherokee Drive, Middlefield, walked into police headquarters to report an assault with neck scratches and black/blue bruising on the left side of her head and lip. An argument took place between her and three others in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on East Main Street in which Chelsea Edgell, 22, of Ridge Road grabbed Tomasino by the hair, threw her to the ground and punched her in the face. Edgell is a large female, about 250 pounds, who sat on her and punched her more times in the face. Both girls admitted to the fight; Tomasino said she started it by calling Edgell “fat.” They were both given a May 5 court date.

DUI, FAILURE TO DRIVE RIGHT — On April 22, an officer dispatched to a car crash on Westfield Street near St. Pius Church saw Miralem Cecunjanin, 27, of Burgundy Hill Lane walking on Westfield Street with dried blood on his face and hands. He denied being involved in the crash and smelled of alcohol. He later admitted to be the driver, but said while driving, his car struck a pothole and he lost control. He failed three field sobriety tests and two breath tests registered blood alcohol levels of .179 and .156. He was given a May 6 court date.

ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER — On April 20, Angel A. Oyola, 49, of College Street was a patient at Middlesex Hospital's emergency room and assaulted staff and an ER nurse. Oyola was intoxicated and became combative when the nurse was giving IV fluids and doing blood work. He spit in her face and staff "four-pointed" him for safety. He was given a May 4 court date.

ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On April 15, Shaun Gaskins, 26, of Burgundy Hill Lane was at an apartment complex under surveillance by police for narcotics activity. Witnesses said two black males working together driving a late-model Dodge Charger with dark tinted windows had been making drug deals in the back parking area near the pool. Gaskins was found in the driver’s compartment with $2,110 in cash strewn about the car, wearing a GPS monitoring bracelet because he is on parole. He was given an April 29 court date.
