City Man Drowns in Connecticut River

Fatbardh Latifi was among four people who jumped off a boat late Sunday to swim near Wethersfield Cove.

 

A 33-year-old Middletown man drowned late Sunday in the Connecticut River after jumping off a boat with three others near Wethersfield Cove, according to the Hartford Courant.

Fatbardh Latifi disappeared in the water at 5:47 p.m., according to CBS Connecticut after those in the boat helped a woman who was struggling in the water, the Courant reports.

His body was discovered four hours later after Glastonbury, Hartford, East Hartford, Rocky Hill, state police and the U.S. Coast Guard coordinated rescue efforts.
