Cops: City Woman Admits to Stabbing Victim in the Back

Liberty Place resident admitted to the assault but told police it was retaliation.

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On June 9, Jakese Sessoms, 35, of Spencer Drive was a victim of domestic violence at his girlfriend’s home on Liberty Place.

PROBATION VIOLATION — On June 9, Jeff Edgar, 56, of Bow Lane turned himself into police headquarters on an outstanding warrant from an incident on Main Street.

SECOND-DEGREE ASSAULT — On June 9, Jerrica A. Diaz, 23, of Liberty Place was arrested for stabbing a victim in the back with a kitchen knife. She admitted to the stabbing but said she did so only after being assaulted, though she had no visible marks on her and didn’t call police because she didn’t want to get the victim in trouble.

FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE — On June 8, Argemiro Sandoval, 49, of Burgundy Hill Lane was stopped while driving on Vine Street for an improper brake light. His North Carolina drivers license turned up an outstanding warrant from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, SECOND-DEGREE ROBBERY — On June 8, Brian Hunter, 19, of Summer Hill Road was at the scene of a robbery on Town Brooke Drive. The victim was physically assaulted by Hunter and a juvenile. Both had robbed him of a $600 cell phone and assaulted the victim’s head, leg and torso. They were apprehended in an adjacent apartment complex. The juvenile was sent to the Hartford Youth Correctional Facility.

TWO COUNTS PROBATION VIOLATION — On June 8, Colin T. Frayne, 24, of Aspen Drive was found by the street crimes/narcotics unit in a local establishment with an outstanding warrant.

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, FAILURE TO KEEP NARCOTICS IN CONTAINER — On June 1, Katie E. Pitts, 23, of Glastonbury Turnpike, Portland, was driving on Main Street with an improper brake light. The officer knew she is an illegal heroin and pill abuser. She had a hypodermic needle in her purse. Police found empty clear plastic and cellophane packaging and six and three-quarters Suboxone pills in a bottle marked Oxycodone.
