Car Hits TD Bank Building on Washington Street

No injuries were immediately reported and customers continued while Middletown Police conducted their investigation at the branch on Route 66.

A car struck the TD Bank building at 911 Washington St. this morning in Middletown, causing damage to the building's brick exterior as well as damage inside the building.

No one appeared to be injured in the accident which took place just before 10:30 a.m. and involved a white Kia Optima with Wisconsin plates driven by a man, according to witnesses.

Inside, brochures and other paperwork littered the floor and there was a gaping hole to the outside where the vehicle had pushed the exterior brick facade and a large window above it so it angled inward.

Several Middletown Police officers were on scene investigating and customers were allowed to continue banking.
