PD: Man Hits Former Roommate's Head With Cane Six Times

Middletown Police say a Green Street apartment was the scene of an argument between two city men that ended when one physically assaulted the other.

An argument between two former roommates ended with one being sent to the hospital after being hit over the head six times by a Green Street man and both being arrested, according to Middletown Police.

On July 12 at 3:05 p.m., Scott Dominic Marsan, 48, of College Street came up to a police officer on Green Street, with a bleeding head, saying he was just assaulted, the report says, by, Byron Lee Bell, 48, of Green Street.

The report says Bell had invited Marsan into his apartment then struck him with his cane six times.

When asked to elaborate by officers, Bell said he asked Marsan to leave but Marsan grabbed Bell by the shirt to "start a fight."

Marsan was taken to the hospital to treat his injuries and, the report says, police soon discovered the two men had lived together a year ago for six months.

Marsan was arrested for breach of peace and Bell for second-degree assault.
