Boyfriend, Girlfriend Arrested After Fight Over Tattoo

The following arrests were made by Middletown and Meriden Police.

  • Kyra Ross, 19, 69 Lyman Drive, Middletown, was arrested and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
  • Rohanna Powell, 20, 21 Maplewood Terrace, Middletown, was arrested and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

VIOLATION OF PROBATION — On Aug. 22 at 8:20 p.m., Carmine S. Seminoro, 28, of Liberty Street was seen sitting on the curb at Lincoln Street and Park Place.

TWO COUNTS VIOLATION OF PROBATION, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On Aug. 21 at 1:35 p.m., Cheryl A. Russin, 53, of Silver Street was seen sitting on the steps of the Community Health Center dental office. Police knew she had an outstanding warrant. She gave police a fake name; they saw a tattoo on her arm that said “Cher.” She said she was going to turn herself in on Monday and didn’t want to spend the night in jail.

BREACH OF PEACE — On Aug. 21 at 7:02 p.m., Cassandra Bonilla, 20, of Main Street and a victim were fighting in a car at Braeburn Lane, where they both lived for about three weeks. Bonilla grabbed the keys, but the victim prevented her because Bonilla does not have a license. The victim said Bonilla had her in a headlock; they argued and she grabbed a brick and threatened to hit the car. A witness confirmed her story.

THIRD-DEGREE LARCENY — On Aug. 21 at 7:48 p.m., Brandon Freeman, 31, of Maplewood Terrace was picked up by Rocky Hill Police on a stolen moped. The victim said he was talking to Freeman in front of St. Vincent DePaul soup kitchen when Freeman said he would pay $800 for it. The victim went inside to use the bathroom and when he returned, it was gone. The victim and his friend drove around looking for the bike and found him riding it on Main Street in Rocky Hill at the Citgo Station. When followed, Freeman wiped out and took off on foot. Freeman was caught and had changed into shorts but was found with gasoline-drenched jeans. Freeman later said he met the victim, who owed him $300, at the soup kitchen and the victim gave it to him in exchange for the debt.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, RISK OF INJURY — On Aug. 20 at 1:15 a.m., Russell K. Geter, 32, of Griffin Place came home to find his live-in girlfriend leaving with her daughter. He became upset, poked her face several times, called her stupid and threatened to punch her face. He accused her of cheating and took the baby from the car and brought it into the apartment. Police inside and found a baby crying and crawling on the floor near a fan and an outlet box. It was soiled with a runny nose. Two men were found sleeping inside, one of them Geter. He said he fell asleep and appeared drunk.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, SECOND-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On Aug. 20, Fabiola Goin, 27, of Braeburn Lane threw items at a victim, causing them to break.

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On Aug. 19, Dean Anziano, 22, of Kiki Drive, Meriden, was at the Middlesex Hospital emergency room being evaluated when he got mad and punched a hole in the sheetrock wall.

TWO COUNTS POSSESSION NARCOTICS, AND WITH INTENT TO SELL, DISTRIBUTION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL, ILLEGAL SALE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE — On Aug. 19 at 1 p.m., Middletown Police Narcotics Unit were canvassing the 400 block of Main Street for drug activity. Damien L. West, 31, of Main Street was found standing in a doorway on the second floor. He is a convicted felon with multiple arrests for possession and sale of narcotics; on May 23, Narcotics executed a search and seizure warrant for him but couldn’t find him. The resident of the apartment allowed police and a K-9 to search the home. The dog found 13 baggies (2.6 grams) of crack cocaine in a hat in a black garbage bag. In a pair of shorts police found West’s birth certificate. The resident said the drugs belonged to West. He later told police he sells crack because he cannot get a legitimate job. He said he makes $200-$300 profit on that amount of crack.

BREACH OF PEACE — On Aug. 18 at 7:36 p.m., Sabrina N. Ready, 23, of Grand Street was arguing with her boyfriend Hassad Imad, 32, of Grand Street, because he is a tattoo artist and she got a tattoo from someone else. She called her cousin who he said assaulted him. Imad had a ripped shirt, cut on his forearm and blood on the sleeve of his T-shirt. Ready said she pushed him and he grabbed her hair and ripped out her ponytail. They threw each other’s items around the house and Ready punched through the plexiglass window of the front door. Both were arrested: Imad additionally for third-degree criminal mischief.

BREACH OF PEACE — On Aug. 18, Ann Botelho, 41, of Warwick Street was at 288 South Main Street, Mad Murphy’s, and got into an argument with a victim. Botelho pushed him from behind and he fell as he was walking up stairs. He got a 5- to 6-inch cut on his head. She said he “was coming on too strong” so she pushed him.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Aug. 18 at 6:45 p.m., William Perry, 35, of Highland Avenue was at a house in the 100 block of Highland Avenue was looking for his lost keys and asked Jeanette Torres, 32, of Highland Avenue for a ride. They argued and she brought him back, so he grabbed for the keys as Torres tried to grab his arms and her sister, Jessica Torres-DeJesus, 31, of Highland Avenue started hitting him. He said Torres is the mother of his two children. All three were arrested.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITH CELL PHONE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM, FAILURE TO RENEW REGISTRATION — On Aug. 11 at 8:05 p.m., Leonard Golas, 22, of Silver Street was driving on Washington Street ahead of a police officer talking on the phone. Golas said he forgot to register the car.

POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, AND WITH INTENT TO SELL, USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On Aug. 10 at 3:58 p.m., Archange J. JeanPierre, 24, of Woodbury Circle was a passenger in a car driving on deKoven Drive with a cracked windshield. The officer smelled fresh marijuana from inside; 3.7 grams were found on him. Inside a backpack was found 1 ounce of marijuana 18 plastic vials and a digital scale; on the ground next to him was found a vial with 1.2 grams inside.

DUI, OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE, FAILURE TO DRIVE RIGHT — On Aug. 8, Amy Skawinski, 39, of Carroll Street was driving erratically on Route 9 and struck a guardrail. She was seen by police driving on High Street after making a wide turn and crossing into an oncoming lane. She was extremely lethargic with slurred speech. Numerous pill bottles were found in the car. She could not take sobriety tests nor barely stand up. She refused a urine test.
