Middletown Police say an 18-year-old city resident found with marijuana, narcotics and drug paraphernalia told them he used the scale when he bought some pot and didn't want to get 'ripped off.'

report the following incidents:

The officer smelled marijuana inside the car; Moore denied smoking it or having any, the report says. A search revealed a baggie with marijuana in his front pocket, another inside the front passenger door and an AWS scale with marijuana residue, a copper grinder, three glass pipes with residue, another baggie with pot inside (total of 13 grams) and 53 blue round pills marked Mylan A1, later determined to be Xanax, the report says. He told the officer the scale was his and used for when he buys pot so as not to get “ripped off,” and said he had a prescription for the Xanax.
