Alleged Gang Member Arrested After Nightclub Fracas

Middletown and Connecticut State Police report the following incidents.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH FINGERPRINTS, VIOLATION PROBATION — On Oct. 25 at 10:21 p.m., Wayne Wallace, 45, of Main Street was on Main and Ferry streets with an outstanding warrant. While being processed, he yelled racial slurs and threatened officers.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN REGISTRATION IS SUSPENDED — On Oct. 23 at 7:08 a.m., Charles W. Curtis, 27, of Elm Street, Meriden, was driving on South Main Street in a Ford Explorer

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS REVOKED — On Oct. 22, Owen A. Miner, 29, of Ingham Hill, Old Saybrook, was driving on Pearl Street without a seatbelt.

USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On Oct. 22 at 10:12 a.m., James M. Monroe, 26, of Woodbury Circle was stopped by police on Spring and Prospect streets. Officer smelled marijuana and found rolling papers and straw with a white substance, pot pipe and wooden box with green plant material. He admiited they were his.

ATTEMPT TO COMMIT CRIME, THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, BREACH OF PEACE — On Oct. 21 at 1:55 a.m., police were patrolling Washington and Main streets. They heard someone yelling, “Come here! Come here! I thing we need some help!” The head doorman at Titanium was gesturing toward officers. Police saw Jakwan Walton, 20, of Main Street, being pushed toward a car by two black men. They were told Walton tried to break the front window of the nightclub after employees saw him banging hard on the window as if to break it after it was closed for the night. Walton was in a fighting stance and kept reaching into his pants and ranting about being a Blood gang member. No weapons were found on him but a buck-style folding knife was found in his car. Walton admitted to walking from the Shadow Room to Titanium.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Oct. 19 at 9:38 p.m., officers were called to Price Chopper on Washington Street for a shoplifter. Kevin J. Sansone, 25, of Hilton Drive, South Windsor, was recognized by store security as having stole $168.30 in Enfamil baby formula on Oct. 9 and 10. Police watched the security video.

INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE — On Oct. 17 at 10:51 p.m., police were driving behind a Jeep Cherokee driven by Michael Cicon, 30, of Tucitto Road, Portland. When stopped over the Arrigoni Bridge in Portland, he told officers he bought the car yesterday and used the plate from his other car.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE IN VIOLATION OF CLASSIFICATION AND WHEN LICENSE IS REVOKED, FAILURE TO WEAR SEATBELT — On Oct. 7 at 10:34 a.m., Muhammad A. Mannan, 26, of no certain address was driving a Nissan Rogue over the Arrigoni Bridge. He was found on Saybrook Road and arrested.

Connecticut State Police Troop F reports:

Steven Dickerson, 41, of 18 Chatham Court, Portland, was arrested in Middletown on Oct. 29 and charged with  speeding, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to drive in the proper lane and failure to obey a traffic control signal. Police said Dickerson was observed driving erratically around 2 a.m. and was clocked on police radar going 70 mph in a 40 mph speed zone. After crossing into the opposite lane and running a red light on Newfield Street, police said, Dickerson was pulled over by police and given a field sobriety test, which he failed. He was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 15.
