PD: Mom Passed Out Drunk With Tot Unsecured in Running Car

Middletown Police say a 30-year-old Newington woman failed sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of two and a half times the legal limit.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD, BREACH OF PEACE, INTERFERING WITH EMERGENCY CALL, VIOLATION OF RESTRAINING ORDER, FIRST-DEGREE UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT — On July 12 at 4:25 a.m., police were called to Stoneycrest drive on a domestic violence call. A victim said Laquan Bond, 21, of Travis Square had physically assaulted her.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On July 11 at 8:39 a.m., police were called to a home on Grand Street where a female victim, Negar Hamad, 24, of Maplewood Terrace, Bridgeport, said her boyfriend of six years, Rodrick Godfrey, 30, of Grand Street, was in the bathroom and when she walked in, the report says, he choked her and twisted her wrist. Police say she then changed her story to say he pushed a toothbrush against her neck. He told police he put his arm out to prevent her from going into his pockets, but denied both alleged actions. Both were arrested.

TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS, RECKLESS DRIVING, DUI, FAILURE TO DRIVE IN PROPER LANE — On July 11 at 1 p.m., Lorenzo V. Guarino, 29, of High Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On July 11 Rocco P. Romano, 39, of Lincoln Street was found at Middletown Superior Court with an outstanding warrant.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On July 9 at 8:28 p.m., a motorcycle driven by Foell

Richard J. Langley, 45, of Chamberlain Road, owner of the motorcycle, came into police headquarters on June 10 at 6:30 p.m., the report says, to explain he had been at Mad Murphy’s the night before and walked to the Stop N Go to use the ATM machine when Foell asked Langley for his keys. The report says Langley answered, “there are no keys, if you can start it, you can have it,” jokingly; then moments later he heard the motor loudly and saw Foell speeding out of the parking lot on the bike, “hanging onto the handlebars with both feet dragging on the ground.” The report says Langley saw Foell hit a car, continue across the road, hit a curb and crash through an apartment window.

VIOLATION PROTECTIVE ORDER — On July 10 at 6:30 a.m., Bruce V. Rasted, 46, of no certain address turned himself into Middletown Police on an outstanding warrant.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On July 8 at 10:13 p.m., Julian R. Santos, 27, of George Street was at the scene of a domestic dispute and police found he had an outstanding warrant.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATION UNDER SUSPENSION SECOND OFFENSE, STOP SIGN VIOLATION — On July 7 at 7:10 p.m., Matthew Wilcox, 20, of Grand Street was seen driving a Jeep Cherokee through a four-way stop at Liberty and Prospect streets with a plate that belonged on a Chrysler Sebring. He was also found with an outstanding warrant.

OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — On July 6 at 2:13 p.m., William R. Wooten, 26, of Long Lane was driving a Mitsubishi on Harbor Drive with a brake light out. The officer smelled marijuana inside the car.

IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATION WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE — On July 6 at 10:36 a.m., Desmond A. Reid, 39, of Spring Street was stopped by police on Route 9 north by Exit 15 driving a Toyota Supra with a plate registered to a Pontiac Grand Am.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELT — On July 5, Todd E. Dorey, 33, of Hollister Street, Manchester, was seen by police driving on South Main Street without a seatbelt.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA AND WITH INTENT TO SELL, AND WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF A DAYCARE — On July 2 at 4:55 p.m., Vincent Anthony Sullivan, 23, of Saddlehill Drive was seen by police speeding at 74 mph in a 40 mph zone on Washington Street in a Cadillac CTS. He was stopped by police in the Connecticut Beverage Mart parking lot. An officer smelled marijuana in the car and a search revealed a bag with 1.04 ounces of marijuana.

FAILURE TO SECURE CHILD UNDER AGE SIX IN CAR SEAT, DUI, RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD — On June 26 at 10:15 p.m., police were called to Auto Store II on Newfield Street on the report of a person passed out in a car. Alanna A. Johnson, 30, of City Inn, Berlin Turnpike, Newington, the report says, was seen slumped in the driver's seat against the door and an officer found a 4-year-old child without a car seat, the motor running and the key in the ignition. After knocking and shaking her, the officer said, Johnson didn’t wake up until minutes later. The report says her eyes were bloodshot red and her speech slow and slurred and smelled of alcohol. She failed sobriety tests and a breath test registered .199 and .201 blood alcohol levels.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN REGISTRATION IS SUSPENDED — On June 24 at 7:12 p.m., Brian Lightfoot, 30, of Centerbury Street, Hartford, was driving an Acura 3.2TL on Westlake Drive and seen by an officer who ran the plate and found the registration was suspended. The report says Lightfoot was stopped on Route 372 in Cromwell at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
