PD: Pizza Driver Stopped Twice in Two Days Faces Slew of Charges

Middletown Police say a 23-year-old delivering pizzas around the city had a suspended license, an unregistered car and plates that belonged on another vehicle.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 24 at 7:30 a.m., Terelle R. Jenkins, 26, of Rome Avenue turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 23 at 4:38 p.m., Victor Ramos, 31, of Oak Street was seen walking on Main Street and crossed Washington Street when the “do not walk” signal was illuminated. He was found with an outstanding warrant.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On April 23, Ferid Jukic, 62, of East Main Street, who police say speaks mostly Ukranian, was in a fight with his roommate, who officers say, smelled of alcohol. The victim said he and Jukic were having a few beers when he began kicking the victim in the shin but when he showed the officer his leg, it had no apparent injuries. The report says Jukic made a kicking motion to indicate he had done so to the victim.

SPEEDING — On April 20 at 6:10 p.m., Kyle M. McDermott, 21, of Street Terrace, Cromwell, was seen speeding at 84 miles per hour on Washington Street in a 40mph zone. The report says McDermott told officers he got a concerning voice message from his grandfather and was rushing to check up on him.

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED REGISTRATION — On April 19, Daniel M. Sims, 38, of Grand Street was driving a Chevrolet Lumina on Prospect Street.

ILLEGAL OPERATION UNDER SUSPENSION, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATION UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE, FAILURE TO WEAR SAFETY BELT — On April 19 at 6:58 p.m., Sansal Gokcek, 23, of Century Avenue, Bridgeport, was seen by an officer speeding while driving a Honda Accord on Randolph Road without wearing a seatbelt. His plate wasn’t registered to the car, the report says. Gokcek, who delivers pizza for , said he tried to register the car at DMV but couldn’t because his license was suspended. The next day, he was stopped on Saybrook Road for operation of an unregistered vehicle and while license is suspended and failure to wear seatbelt.
