TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST, RECKLESS DRIVING, DISOBEYING OFFICER SIGNAL, VIOLATION OF PROBATION — On July 30 at 2:18 p.m., Shaun M. Gaskins, 27, of Burgundy Hill Lane was at the adult probation office on Main Street and found with outstanding warrants.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On July 27 at 7 p.m., Richard H. Placzynski Jr., 39, of Hunting Hill Avenue was seen by police leaving the Middletown Nature Gardens on Randolph Road with an expired marker plate. The report says his wife insisted to officers the insurance had been renewed that very day.

IMPROPER PARKING, DUI — On July 26 at 7:23 p.m., Thomas Hilton III, 42, of Clinton Avenue was seen by police entering a Ford Expedition parked in the crosswalk of Liberty and Pearl streets. The report says Hilton smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot and glassy eyes and slurred his words; he admitting to having "some beers." The officer saw spilled beer on the front passenger floor mat and a clear glass in the center console cup holder with beer in it. He failed a sobriety test and a breath test registered .264 blood alcohol level; he refused a second, police say.

DUI, OPERATION WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO OBEY CONTROL SIGNAL — On July 25 at 9:22 p.m., Michelle Sofianos, 44, of Town Colony Drive was driving a Dodge Avenger on Newfield Street and LaRosa Drive and hit a Nissan Rogue. Sofianos, police say, had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol but admitted to drinking one glass of wine with dinner, then said it was one Bloody Mary after dinner. She failed a sobriety test, the report says, and failed a breath test.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — On July 24 at 7:46 p.m., Nicole A. Gamble, 36, of Garden Street, Hartford, was driving an Infinity on Newfield Street by Mile Lane.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, SECOND-DEGREE FORGERY — On July 22 at 10:21 p.m., Joseph Marszalek, 79, of Fowler Avenue was driving a Ford F150 van with Missouri dealer plates on Union Street, not registered to any vehicle, the report says. Police say the plate was a fake and Marszalek said he bought it from a "guy" in Middletown; then said he bought it on Craig's List for $1,000; then said he "rented" it from a man for $1,000 a year. The report says Minnesota State Police confirmed the plate was fraudulent and the marker number was last registered in 2007.
