PD: Two Prostitutes Nabbed Downtown in Less Than Hour

BREACH OF PEACE — On May 24 at midnight, Christina McClain, 21, of Thackeray Drive, Fayetteville, N.C., was in Luce Restaurant on Washington Street causing a disturbance and appeared drunk to the bartender, the report details. She was asked to leave and grabbed the female bartender and smashed her head into the wall, police say. Two patrons stepped in to help.

DISTRIBUTION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE LESS THAN 1,500 FEET FROM SCHOOL, ILLEGAL SALE OF DRUGS, NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUG PARAPHERNALIA NEAR SCHOOL, POSSESSION LESS THAN 4 OUNCES MARIJUANA, POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR — On May 23 at 8:28 p.m., Frank J. Tomboly, 18, of Highland Avenue, Portland, was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on Washington and Main streets. The report says he dropped his keys out the window and put his hands in the air. Police smelled marijuana in the car and saw a plastic grinder with residue, a digital scale, 10 $20 bills, and a pint of jaigermellfer and pint of vodka. The report says he wouldn’t say who he got the marijuana from but said he paid $1,000 in East Haddam. His cell phone had evidence, police say, of buying and selling marijuana.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On May 23 at 4:15 p.m., Cierra Jordan, 23, of Traverse Square turned herself in on an outstanding warrant.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On May 22 at 10:45 a.m., Ryan Bates, 24, of Devonshire Lane, Madison, was found with an outstanding warrant after an unrelated motor vehicle stopped.

THIRD-DEGREE PROMOTING PROSTITUTION — On May 22 at 7:24 p.m., street crime police were canvassing Main and Washington streets in an unmarked car and saw Jennifer A. Corraro, 39, of Main Street, a known prostitute, the report says, sitting on a building’s steps on Main. Police say she got into the car after the officer made eye contact with her and she offered oral sex for money. Two other officers pulled the car over. The report says she admitted she has a drug habit and is a prostitute to support it. At 6:41 p.m., the same officer stopped at Grand and Pearl streets and made eye contact with Karen Fiedler, 34, of Colony Street, Meriden, who the report says was scantily dressed. She agreed to perform oral sex for money and they drove to North Main Street, where the same two officers pulled them over, according to the report. The report states she admitted to being a crack cocaine user and had already that day performed a sexual act for money in Middletown, but is waiting to get into a drug treatment center at Connecticut Valley Hospital. Fieldler is a convicted felon with arrests for prostitution, possession of narcotics, and of drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespass.

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On May 22, William Miller, 22, of Cross Street was involved with a dispute with his girlfriend of a year and a half after she said she didn’t want to have a relationship with him any longer so he, according to police, took her cell phone and threw it against the wall, breaking it, then broke a lamp.

EVADING RESPONSIBILITY — On May 21 at 2 p.m., Thomas Cove, 21, of Old Farms Road, Durham, was being held by the DEP in Middlefield and police picked him up on an outstanding warrant.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On May 18 at 12:15 p.m., police were called to Stop & Shop on East Main Street on the report of a purse snatching. The report says the victim was leaving after picking up a prescription and Richard Amichia, 18, of Inverness Lane opened her car door, grabbed her purse and ran into the woods. A canine track led them to his apartment on Hillside Avenue. He admitted, the report says, to stealing it. The victim said she felt bad, police say, and wanted him to get some kind of program help. He was turned over to Cheshire Police for an outstanding warrant for armed robbery.

SECOND-DEGREE BREACH OF PEACE — On May 15 at 7:24 p.m., Wayne Boulier, 31, of McBurnie Road, Presqueisle, Maine, was at the rear of a home on Grand Street in which police were called about a robbery in process. Officers found him on the ground struggling with Kelvin Manson, 28, of Cabot Street, Hartford, over money, with a bloody ear and knuckles and shirt halfway off, drawing a small crowd. The report says both claimed to be the victim.

POSSESSION OF AND ILLEGAL SALE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION LESS THAN 4 OUNCES MARIJUANA AND OF HALLECENOGENIC SUBSTANCE, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE — On May 10, Tyler Shinn, 18, of Tuccitto Road, Portland, was stopped on Washington Street for a motor vehicle violation when police saw a small amount of marijuana in his car. Inside a box under the seat, the report says, was found drug paraphernalia and 17.7 grams of marijuana and LSD, a digital scale, handwritten notes regarding drugs.
