MxCC Scholarship Road Races Expands for 10th Anniversary
For the past nine years Middlesex Community College has held a 5K to benefit student scholarships and programs. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the race, MxCC is expanding the event, making it more exciting for participants.
New this year, there will be a 10K race in addition to the 5K race with new courses for both, as well as a family-friendly 4K fun walk. At the finish line, there will be a “tent city” of exhibit booths by sponsors where runners, walkers, and spectators can visit the booths after the race.

The scholarship road race theme encourages runners and walkers to run or walk as a team, and connect as a healthy community. This is especially topical as October is nationally recognized as breast cancer awareness month. Middlesex Community College partnered with Middlesex Hospital years ago to develop one of the most recognized radiological technologist programs in the state’s community college system. One of the primary methods for treating breast cancer is through radiation treatment, and this treatment requires both well-trained imaging specialists, including doctors and technologists. This year, the MxCC Foundation will be donating $2.00 from every registration fee collected toward program enhancements of the radiologic technology program at MxCC, while the remainder to the profits will benefit general student scholarships and programs at MxCC.
