MxCC Hosts Health Information Management Open House on January 7

Healthcare is one of the nation’s largest employers, and with the federally-required implementation of electronic health records, the need for health information management professionals has increased. The employment outlook for health information technicians is expected to increase by 21 percent from 2010 to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations. To meet that need, Middlesex Community College has introduced a brand new degree program, Health Information Management (HIM), and invites prospective students to its upcoming open house.

At the open house, prospective students will learn about the HIM degree program being offered at MxCC, career pathways in the field of HIM, and the transfer pathway to the baccalaureate program at Charter Oak State College.

The open house and information session will be held on Tuesday, January 7 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Student Lounge at Middlesex Community College, located at 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown. Snow date is January 9. For more information and to register, contact Professor Donna Hylton at dhylton@mxcc.edu or Carolyn Sommer at csommer@mxcc.edu or 860-343-5749.
