MxCC Hosts Free Women’s Forum on April 4

MxCC is hosting a free Women’s Forum, on Friday, April 4, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Chapman Hall on the Middletown campus. This forum is a part of a series of events scheduled during the College’s Women’s History Month celebration.

Featured speakers include former MxCC student Beverly Donofrio, author of “Riding in Cars With Boys” and “Astonished,” and Charles Barber, Visiting Writer at Wesleyan University and author of “Songs From the Black Chair” and “Comfortably Numb: How Psychiatry is Medicating a Nation.” Breakout sessions include Writing as a Tool for Healing, How to Negotiate a Mortgage, How the Arts Help to Heal, and Delivering Your Story.

Although it is called a women’s forum, the event is open to both female and male students, as well as members from the community. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. The conference is free and open to the public, but registration is required. To register, visit http://mxcc.edu/womensforum.
