Lee B. Smith, Veteran and Children's Advocate, Dies at 64
The Middletown-born veteran of the Vietnam War served with the U.S. Army and worked as a security officer at Hartford Hospital.
Lee B. Smith, 64, of Middletown, beloved husband of Donna Gagnon-Smith, died Friday August 16, 2013 at Middlesex Hospital.
He was born in Middletown, son of the late Elliot and Leila (Bannister) Smith. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Army. Lee was a security officer working at Hartford Hospital.
Besides his wife, Lee is survived by his children, Barbara Lee Gagnon-Smith, Danielle Lee Gagnon-Smith, Michelle Lee Gagnon-Smith, and Lee E. Gagnon-Smith all of Middletown; his sister Kathy Smith Mitchell of Chester; a brother, Joseph Smith of Old Saybrook; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St, Middletown.
Burial with military honors will be in State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
