The payroll and bookkeeping service, based in Cromwell, CT, has been growing at an impressive rate of 20 percent per year. And while many of the company's competitors have needed to join forces with national organizations to survive, JDM has remained true to its local roots and is applying old school business practices that are clearly working for both its bottom line and for clients.

Muncaster started the business in her home in 2007 and has grown the enterprise through hard work and a passion for making her clients happy.

“The business is built on trust,” stated Office Manager Rachael Harrington. “I was the first employee Juli hired, we trust each other and our clients trust us.”
JDM now has five employees, a comfortable office on Main St. in Cromwell, and plans to hire two to three more employees to support the continuous growth in bookkeeping and payroll services.
JDM Business Services, LLC is also a female-owned business.
“It is very rewarding to have my own business and I encourage more women to start businesses that they are passionate about,” said Muncaster. The State of Connecticut feels the same way, and is encouraging the emergence of more women-owned businesses. The state has a policy to award a fair share of contracts to women-owned businesses and JDM is in the early stages of positioning itself to be the beneficiary of these state programs.
In addition to adding resources for the bookkeeping and payroll service, JDM is looking at expansion into other areas including: IT services, human resources, graphic design and marketing services.
