Sr. Mary A. McCarthy, RSM, President of Mercy High School and Mrs. Melissa Bullock, Principal have announced the twelve Mercy students that received awards on the 2013 Latin Exam. Mercy students were joined by over 148,000 students from all 50 states and 13 foreign countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe. Ms. Cherie Marceau, Latin Instructor commented, “I am very proud that many of our students received an award. It is a reflection of their hard work and perseverance. I congratulate the awards winners and all students for participating in the exam.” These students won awards for the 2013 exams: LATIN I Allison Wojciechowski - Gold Medal Summa Cum Laude Michelle Reinert - Silver Medal Maxima Cum Laude Julia McQuade - Magna Cum Laude LATIN II Savanna Hajdasz - Silver Medal Maxima Cum Laude Maggie Qiu - Magna Cum Laude Talia Staiger - Magna Cum Laude Christine Cammisa - Magna Cum Laude POETRY III Emily Hall - Silver Medal Maxima Cum Laude Madeline Kumm - Cum Laude Julia Marcin - Cum Laude Simone Jaros - Cum Laude POETRY IV Alice Ochterski - Silver Medal Maxima Cum Laude
