Middletown Rotary Honors Coginchaug Senior as Student of the Month

The Middletown Rotary Club honored Kristen Burtt, a senior at Coginchaug Regional High School, as Student of the Month for October. 

According to her school counselor, Lynn Schofield, “Kristen has been involved in various extracurricular activities and is viewed as a leader in both our school and the community,” Schofield stated.  

In addition to doing very well academically, Burtt participates in a variety of activities including the Read and Lead Club, and this year was elected as Editor of the Yearbook.  Burtt has also been on the tennis team since 9th grade.  As a past member of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), she now holds office of Treasurer of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) as this club is now offered in place of FBLA.

Her volunteer efforts in the community include helping to create a newsletter for the Parkinson’s Working Group at Middlesex Hospital which she has been involved with for two years. 

Burtt plans to attend a four year college and major in accounting.
