Middletown Rotary Inducts 88th President

Local Middletown Club "Reboots" for a new year to serve the community!

July 1st begins the New Year for Middletown Rotary Club as Carlton Winslow was initiated as the 88th President.  Each year the Rotary Club supports the local and global communities through a variety of service projects.

The Middletown Club is one of more than 33,000 Rotary Clubs around the globe.  As Winslow takes office for this upcoming 2011-2012 year, he will be first President of Middletown Rotary to step up for a 2nd term since the club was established in 1925.

Last year's President Jim Misenti challenged club members to “do more.”  In 2010-2011, the club added to the established local initiatives.   Some of these new projects included serving lunches at the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen, adding a pie sale to increase the Annual Turkey Drive fundraiser, forming a new Interact Club at the Independent Day School, as well as hosting a Skating fundraiser.

“One of the areas of focus for the upcoming year will be to get our new members involved in the various avenues of club service,” noted Winslow.  The club has a variety of committees that help execute community programs  including Amber Alert,  The One Book Program, Student Scholarships and Warm the Children to name a few.

The Middletown Rotary Club meets weekly at 12:15 on Tuesdays at First & Last Restaurant.  For more information on Rotary, contact Carlton@danielsoil.com  or visit www.middletownrotary.org
