It’s above 90 degrees on Thursday at 1pm and the Cromwell Parks & Recreation Summer Program Campers at Woodside Intermediate School (WIS) are outside serving up ice cold lemonade, all for a great cause… to fight childhood cancer!
This past week, kids entering 2nd through 4th grades as well as their counselors, focused on organizing the annual “Alex’s Lemonade Stand ™” which ran today during camp from 10am to 2pm. The kids made signs to promote the fundraiser which were posted throughout town, tye dyed t-shirts on Wednesday that supported their campaign, and took turns giving out lemonade today to those who stopped by for a much need thirst quenching cold drink. And, by the smiles on their faces, it was obvious- they were proud of themselves and by all accounts should be!
The goal is to raise over $1000 today. Alex’ Lemonade Stand™, Foundation for Childhood Cancer, is a national program, fighting cancer one cup at a time! If you didn't get a chance to get your ice cold glass of lemonade today, no sweat (no pun intended). By clicking on the previous link, you can get more information on fighting childhood cancer.
I will be happy to post the total money raised after the money is all in!
