From United Way to you: a 15-minute volunteer challenge

Each year, we get hundreds of phone calls from people in Middlesex County looking to volunteer.

Many people want to see the tangible results of their work—the house held together by the nails they drove, the pile of leaves they raked, the walls they painstakingly painted. Others want to see smiles on the faces of the people they shared their time with—the child they mentored, the senior they helped with their grocery shopping, or the family receiving a meal for Thanksgiving.

There are also less visible—but still important—ways to volunteer.

Volunteers are needed to spread the word, to take a stand and to be an advocate.

From now until the end of August, Middlesex United Way needs volunteers to speak out for what’s important to you. We are undergoing a community needs assessment, and we need your help!  If you live or work in Middlesex County we want to know what you feel are the most critical needs in your community.

So, here at Middlesex United Way, we have a 15-minute volunteer challenge for you. Will you help us with our needs assessment and complete this survey before August 30?

You can find it at: www.middlesexunitedway.org/survey.

It will likely take you between 10 and 15 minutes, but some overachievers didn’t even need 10 minutes.

Would you also help us spread the word by sharing this survey with 15 friends, colleagues or family members?

The results from this survey will be used to help shape our priorities over the next five years.  We will also make this information available to the general public, including leaders of other organizations, who along with Middlesex United Way, want to improve community conditions.

Thank you for your time! Middlesex County would not be the great place that it is without the amazing spirit of volunteerism.

LIVE UNITED.
