From Renting to Homeownership: Free Seminar Offers Basics

Liberty Bank and Middletown's North End Action Team have paired up to offer folks considering a home purchase the basics — and where to begin.

Liberty Bank in partnership with the North End Action Team will present a free Homebuyer Education Seminar on Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Green St. Art Center, 51 Green St., Middletown, CT.

The seminar is approved by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority and helps renters understand the transition to homeownership. It is also a prerequisite for those wishing to secure down payment assistance or applying for any government housing programs. 

Topics covered are: Budgeting and credit; mortgage lending basics; the value of working with a real estate agent; and homeowners insurance.
