State Police Troopers Christmas Toy Drive a Resounding Success

Gifts were donated to Middlesex Hospital in Middletown to be given to families in need throughout the year.

On Nov. 29, Connecticut State Police Troop F Westbrook Commanding Officer Lt. Patrick Torneo, along with sergeants, troopers, detectives, dispatchers and clerical staff, kicked off the 2013 Troop F Christmas Toy Drive.

The toy drive is an annual event and all of Troop F personnel works very hard to make sure many toys are collected for those families in need during the holiday season.

Troopers collected toys from locally operated businesses, residents of the surrounding towns and many motorists who pass through the Troop F area. Troopers collected hundreds of toys for boys and girls from 1 to 18 years of age.

Troopers and dispatchers delivered the toys to Middlesex Hospital's Family Services Department on Dec. 19. They will be distributed to local families throughout all of Middlesex County not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year.
