Surgery and Studying Abroad: Two Middletown Folk Need Your Help

Gender reassignment surgery and a semester of studying business abroad in China are two crowd funding requests from city residents on GoFundMe.

Sometimes, we all need a helping hand. 

These Middletown residents are reaching out to the community via the fundraising site, GoFundMe. They’re raising funds for various opportunities or causes through crowd funding.

Ameilia Teape of Middletown is hoping to raise money so she can attend the Ithaca College School of Business Short Study Abroad summer program in China. In two weeks, she has gotten $400 in donations but needs a total of $5,000.

Aubri Drake of Middletown needs $7,600 for gender-reassignment surgery. In six months, she has received $1,738 in pledged donations and is offering chain mail or crocheted bracelets in return.
