Candlelighting Ceremony at Middlesex Hospital

The local chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a support group for individuals and families who have lost a child, will hold a special candle lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 11, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Bengtson Conference Room at Middlesex Hospital, 28 Crescent Street in Middletown.

The ceremony is part of a worldwide event that will start in New Zealand and go around the world, creating a wave of support for families who have lost a child. Participants are invited to bring a photo of their child for a memory table at the event.

The Compassionate Friends offers more than 630 meeting locations around the country, in which bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents meet to talk, listen, share and provide each other with emotional support after the devastating death of a child.
