Summer Jazz on the Lawn

The backyard of the General Joseph Mansfield House, 151 Main Street, Middletown,
will come alive with the golden tones of the Mike Augeri Jazz Project as the
group presents a concert on Saturday, August 10 to benefit the Middlesex County
Historical Society.  Musicians Mike
Augeri (drums/percussion), Sinan Bakir (guitar), Orice Jenkins, (piano), Paul
Fuller (bass), Jim Bosco (saxophone), and Rich Tortorigi (percussion) will
perform jazz standards, such as the Sonny Rollins classic, “Saint Thomas,” as
well as original compositions by Sinan Bakir.



 



Mike Augeri, a Middletown
native, has performed with such renowned artists as Teddy Pendergrass, Pete
Seeger and John Brighenti. He has assembled a group of musicians well known in
the regional jazz scene whose talents will enthrall you on a sultry summer
evening. The Spear
Park gate will open at
4:00 pm for picnicking on the lawn; the concert begins at 6:00 pm. Admission is
$10, and children 12 and under are free. Rain date is Sunday, August 11, same
