Jamie Anderson & the Ladies Auxiliary Ukelele Orchestra

Singer-songwriter-comic Jamie Anderson has played her warm and witty songs in hundreds of venues. Her newest recording, Dare, features songs about a variety of topics, from a tender ballad about her grandmother to a song about why you should send her chocolate (“Menopause Mambo”). Her new CD will be available, with sounds of folk and comedy with forays into pop, jazz and bluegrass, it’s a delightful blend of Jamie’s music.

In addition to her solo set, she’ll be doing songs with the Ladies Auxiliary Ukulele Orchestra.

Doing big things with little instruments!  Formed in 1994, The Ladies Auxiliary Ukulele Orchestra now includes songwriter and educator Bernice Lewis, and educator Bernie McMahon.  This isn’t your grandma’s ukulele ensemble: No grass skirts, no coconut bras. Carefully arranged ukuleles come together to create a whole lotta’ sound!  The Ladies Auxiliary Ukulele Orchestra performs originals, as well as re-invents standard favorites. Their set list features songs from every musical era, ranging from Mozart to the Andrews Sisters, from Led Zeppelin to Radiohead.

“Bernice writes beautifully and deeply.”
