Stamps honoring African Americans are on display in the first floor lobby case at Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown.  The stamps were loaned by a member of The New Haven Philatelic Society which was established in 1914 and is a forum for stamp collectors in New Haven County. The society organizes the 4th Sunday of the Month Collectible Show which features dealers of stamps, postcards, coins and other collectibles. It has become one of the biggest monthly stamp shows in New England.
