Community Corner

Russell Readers

Join us on Tuesday, February 12, when we will discuss the poetry Emily Dickinson. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month from 7-8:20pm in Meeting Room 3 at Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown.  Discussions are based on the Great Books Foundation method in which readers talk in open gatherings, under a leader, about the great issues that have shaped civilization as reflected in the readings.  This year we will use the Modern American Poetry anthology from the Great Books Foundation.  Copies of the book are available at the checkout desk with an extended loan period through December 2013.  Please read all the poems for each assigned author, and we will focus on the author’s first poems for discussion.   For more information, call (860) 347-0196 or email ameyers@russell.lioninc.org.  The discussions are sponsored by The Friends of the Russell Library.
