Indira Karamcheti, Associate Professor of English at Wesleyan University, will lead a discussion of Ready Player One by Ernest Cline on Wednesday, March 13th at 7pm in the Hubbard Room at Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown.  Ready Player One offers something for all readers. Set in the year 2044, at its heart it's a quest that plays out as a scavenger hunt in a virtual universe. You don't have to be a gamer or understand the 1980's references to enjoy the novel --it's also a suspenseful romance with an unlikely and loveable hero, a teenage boy named Wade Watts. You will enjoy cheering him on as he tries to beat the evil corporation to the finish line. It’s “at once serious and playful, that is as fun to read as it is harrowing.” Our discussion leader Indira is an Associate Professor of American Studies and Director of the Center for the Americas at Wesleyan. She earned her PhD from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
