Bestselling Author Shares Secrets to Her Success

As the number of
self-published books produced annually in the United States continues to
explode, New York Times
bestselling author Marie Force will host a two-day Independent Author Symposium
for authors on November 1-2, 2013, during which she will share insights that
have helped her to sell more than one-million self-published e-books. Force is
among the industry’s leading “hybrid” authors, finding success with both
traditional and self-publishing.

Blogger and author
Penny Watson, who has been both traditionally and self-published in romantic
fiction and children’s fiction, will be joining Force in leading several of the
educational sessions. Watson frequently tours New England
giving workshops on social media etiquette, promotion and blogging/book
reviewing.

“The idea for the
symposium sprang from a demand by independent authors, many of whom frequently
contact me seeking advice on self-publishing,” said Marie Force. “We’ve
designed the symposium to provide authors with specific information on how to
be successful in publishing, marketing and selling books on their own, giving
them the opportunity to take control of their writing careers. I believe the
opportunities for authors in the digital age are endless, and I’m looking
forward to sharing some of what I’ve learned at the symposium.”

Force has drawn
inspiration for two of her series from her home state of Rhode Island – the McCarthys of Gansett
Island and the Treading Water Series. Force also authors the New
York Times bestselling Fatal Series, which is set in Washington, D.C.
and published by Harlequin, as well as seven stand-alone books. On February 4,
2014 Berkley Publishing will release All You Need Is
