Autism is Healthline Topic

Kim Newgass, director of Outreach and Special Services for Autism Services and Resources Connecticut is the guest on the next edition of the health-information radio program  “Healthline.”

Newgass, will discuss the causes, symptoms and treatment of autism.

Autism is one of a group of serious developmental problems called autism spectrum disorder that appears in early childhood – usually before age 3. The condition is a life-long developmental disability that prevents individuals from properly understanding what they see, hear, and sense. It is estimated that more than two million Americans are affected by autism and that the rate of new cases is on the rise.

“Healthline” is produced by the Middletown Health Department and can be heard Saturday, Aug. 3, at 3:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m. on WIHS 104.9 FM and every Sunday at 6:30 p.m. on WCNX Radio 1710 and wcnxradio.com and “on-demand” at wcnxradio.com.
