The Art Guild of Middletown's October Happenings...

The Art Guild of Middletown holds its next workshop on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 9:00am. The workshop will be lead by Art Scholz. Born and raised in the vibrant surroundings of New York City, Art was inspired early on to begin sketching the many faces of subway riders and the ever-changing scenes of city streets. Working as a summer farm hand during his teen years, he formed memorable visions of farms and the rural countryside. Art’s career as a freelance illustrator and designer, led to a professional and creatively exciting career. Upon retiring, he has returned to his original love of watercolor painting. On Thursday, October 10th, 2013 at 7 pm Pierre Sylvain will demonstrate his very special art techniques. A native of Haiti, Sylvain has been an artist for as a far back as he can remember. Caribbean landscape painting is his specialty. The artist is the creator of the vibrantly painted 55-gallon oil-drum recycling canisters that line Main Street in Middletown. Each oil drum painting depicts a unique, vividly colored                                                                                   scene.
