Work

I am President of the North End Action Team’s Board of Directors and serve on the Design Review and Preservation Board for the city of Middletown. I currently work as an Assistant Manager at It’s Only Natural Market.

Why do you want to hold public office in Middletown?

I am a lifelong Middletown resident who has been interested in local politics from an early age. I am at a point in my life were I feel I am ready to effectively contribute to community conversations and decisions. One of the ways I can do this is by serving on the Board of Education. At the same time I want to give a voice to a group that is under represented in Middletown Politics, youth. I believe it is vital that young people are heard and their issues understood, particularly in regards to education.

What experience do you bring to the table?

Over the years I have served on boards and committees and I am no stranger to meetings and decision-making. I hope to bring to the Board of Education a current knowledge and understanding of students as I graduated from Middletown High School in 2009. The Board of Education makes critical decisions about Middletown students and their future and I hope to be a progressive voice that advocates for them.

What do you think the town’s most pressing issue is?

The biggest issue that faces Middletown is its public education. Middletown needs to make great strides in its schools in order to move forward and to continuously grow. A strong education system enriches children’s lives and provides them a better base for their future. Improvements to education not only enrich children, but feedback into our community through higher earning jobs, lower crime rates, and a healthier population.

What do you love most about Middletown?

What I love most about Middletown is that it represents a microcosm of society.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like reading, watching movies, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.

How can residents keep up with you?
