Meet Bill Wilson, Republican Candidate for Education Board

This lifelong Middletown resident wants to bring accountability to the public schools budgeting process and hopes to eliminate the threat of layoffs for teachers and cancellation of student activities.

Middletown Patch's meet-the-candidates series allows voters to learn a little bit about the men and women running for public office this November.

Republican William Wilson is vying for a seat on Middletown education board.

Why I am running for Board of Education:

I was an elected Planning and Zoning commissioner from 2001 to 2005 and Board of Assessment Appeals member from 2009 to 2011. I have sat on the Cable Advisory commission since 1995 and I am currently the vice chairman.  I am also the vice chairman of the Middletown Republican Town Committee.

I have chosen to run for the Board of Education because I believe there needs to be someone who listens to the taxpayers. I intend to bring accountability to the budgeting process. My goal is to see that we are using the taxpayers' money appropriately. I also want to focus on eliminating the threat of layoffs for the teachers and cancellation of student activities. I feel that I can bring fresh perspective and ideas to help make Middletown have a strong and effective Board of Education.

I hope you will join me in voting for the entire Row A team for a better Middletown
