VIDEO: Breast is Best as Mothers Revel in Choice of Feeding

Dozens of mothers and children rally at Middlesex Hospital's World Breastfeeding Week walk.

Mother's milk — and its undeniable benefits for mother, child and the community — was on everyone's mind in a festive, sometimes emotional celebration at Middlesex Hospital's annual World Breastfeeding Walk Tuesday morning.

Mothers and their infants, babies and toddlers filled a conference room to hear doctors and nurses speak about lactation and women recount their struggles and successes.

On Saturday, the conclusion of World Breastfeeding Week, the Middletown La Leche League will be participating in The Big Latch On — an attempt to break the world record of women across the world breastfeeding simultaneously.
