Middlesex United Way Makes Storm Relief Donation

American Red Cross is recipient.

The Middlesex United Way recently made a $5,000 donation to support Red Cross relief work in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene. During its response to the storm, the Red Cross worked out of an operations center in Middletown. Kevin Wilhelm, executive director of the Middlesex United Way visited the operations headquarters to present the donation.
In the attached photo, Middlesex United Way Executive Director Kevin Wilhelm, left, and American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region CEO Dianne Auger, right. Wilhelm presented a $5,000 donation to the Red Cross to support Red Cross relief work in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene. The Red Cross operated a statewide relief operation out of a facility in Middletown, chosen for its central location and the building's capacity for large numbers of volunteers and equipment.
